Why Nelore?
Nelore, a zebu (Bos indicus) breed, makes up around 80% of Brazil’s beef herd. It is prized for heat tolerance, parasite resistance and feed efficiency in hot climates, making it the natural choice for fattening farms in Egypt.
The voyage and quarantine
Before shipment the cattle pass pre-export quarantine in accredited facilities, are individually identified with ear tags or electronic chips, and travel on specialised livestock vessels with ventilation, feeding systems and veterinary escort. On arrival at the Egyptian port they clear local veterinary quarantine before moving to fattening farms.
